About Me

I'm Jess Crawford and welcome to my blog!

In short, I write about my experiences with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). I'm not a doctor, scientist or neurologist, I'm just a daughter who previously cared for my mum who was diagnosed in February 2019. In addition to this, I also carry a genetic mutation (C9ORF72) which means I will develop FTD in the future if a cure is not found.  Hopefully sharing my experience will raise awareness of FTD, help me to connect with others and do my bit to contribute to the fight against dementia and finding future treatments.

I am a wife and step-mum living in Beverley, England. I work full-time and I'm taking part in FTD studies at the UCL Dementia Research Centre.  To summarise, I'm the definition of 'spreading oneself too thin' but luckily for me, that's just how I like it!

Anyway, have a read of my story and don't be afraid say hi. I know this can be a lonely journey so please introduce yourself on the online forum. Lots of love, Jess x
