About Me

I'm Jess Crawford. Welcome to my blog!

I write about my experiences with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). I’m not a doctor or scientist, just a daughter who cared for my mum after her BvFTD diagnosis in February 2019, until her passing in June 2022. I also carry the C9ORF72 genetic mutation, which means I, too, will develop FTD in the future if a cure isn’t found. By sharing my story, I hope to raise awareness, connect with others, and contribute to the fight against dementia.

I’m a wife and step-mum living in Beverley, England. I'm a Shareholder and Director at a firm of Independent Financial Advisers. I participate in the GENFI Research Study and I'm currently undergoing fertility treatment to try for my own baby. We’ve chosen the PGD route (pre-implantation genetic diagnosis) to avoid passing on this genetic mutation and I write about all of this in my blog. In short, I’m a busy gal, but I love it!

Please have a read of my story and don’t hesitate to say hi. I know this journey can be lonely, so feel free to drop me a message.

Lots of love, Jess x
